Chitosan is a deacetylation product of chitin. It belongs to the family of glycosaminoglycans. Chitosan is a molecule with numerous attributes, including well-known antifungal and antibacterial properties.
KTS® FA was developed with the aim of controlling the growth of microbiological flora naturally present in grapes. It makes an effective alternative to SO2 for antifungal use.
KTS® FA contains a chitosan with a high degree of deacetylation, which guarantees the number of amines present in the whole molecule. Thanks to a specific production process, KTS® FA has enhanced reactivity that optimises its surface charges, which makes it a highly efficient tool for biocontrol of musts.
