VITANIL VR is mainly made of condensed tannin (proanthocyanidin-type tannin very close to the structure of the grape tannins).
The color of red wines is mainly due to the anthocyanins which are very sensitive to oxidation. When oxidizing, the color of the anthocyanins goes from the red to the orangey-yellow. The wines are then “tile-red” and not very much appreciated by consumers.
Besides, the anthocyanins tend not to dilute in time and form a deposit in the bottle, leading to a loss of color.
To avoid all these inconveniences, VITANIL VR plays an essential role thanks to its important anti-oxidation power and its property to combine with anthocyanins to form stable complexes.
The tannins are also very reactive to the proteins and participate very efficiently in the clarification and the stabilization of wines.
The granular form ensures an easy application through greatly reduced dust formation.
